French Construction

While attending a Rendezvous at Fort De Chartres, IL, I noticed a log shed that was built in the French style. Instead of stacking hewn logs in a horizontal fashion, the French set them upright and filled the spaces between the logs with stones and mud. This small building is a perfect example of French construction. The back half of this shed is being used as a chicken coop. I suspect the front contains tools or grain.
